Catch a weather satellite picture

Since the NOAA APT satellites were retired in 2025, Meteor-M is what a home 137 MHz station can receive. Here is what each satellite is sending now and the passes worth recording over you.

Settings that work

  • SatDump pipeline: Meteor M2-x LRPT 72k (or 80k if 72k does not lock).
  • Sample rate about 1 MSPS, gain 30–40 dB; lower it if the waterfall turns bright all over.
  • Antenna: a V-dipole (two 53 cm rods at 120°) or a QFH, outdoors and clear of walls.

Passes are worked out in your browser from the latest orbits; frequencies come from recent good receptions logged by SatNOGS ground stations.
