Best around 5:00 AM: the radiant is 62° up, about 7 meteors an hour from a dark suburb (more in the countryside, fewer in town).

This year's showers

The Moon shows how bright it will be on the peak night. Peaks shift by a day or so from year to year.

How to watch

  • Get dark

Away from streetlights: a dark park or field shows many more.

  • Lie back

A reclining chair or a mat. Look at the whole sky, not the radiant.

  • Wait 20 min

Your eyes need time to adjust. Leave the phone in your pocket.

  • Dress warm

Nights get cold fast when you sit still.
